Now that the New Year is upon us, what are your plans for 2015? What strategies do you have in place to make your visions a reality?
How clear are those visions for your goals for the next 12 months? Begin to think about what you can do differently. I would like to touch on just one thing that has made a huge difference in my life and has freed up a lot of time for me to do the things that are important to me in achieving my goals, and perhaps it will in yours too. And that is doing things as a “team” and not just you.
This is one of the hardest things for me to do. I have discovered that my “I can do it myself and do it better” attitude is not only not a true statement, it also only hurts me in reaching my growth and full potential. And when you think about it – it’s a little on the arrogant side. You see, every person that you come into contact with knows something that you do not know. Why not learn from the people who have paved the path for us already? It certainly makes life a lot easier.
For example, cleaning my own house was a “pride” thing for me. My mom did it and I thought that “real” women should be able to clean house, cook balanced healthy meals, do laundry and work —and that I should be able to be successful at all of these things……. WRONG!! Boy …..was I wrong.
I discovered, through the urging of my husband, that there are people out there who do all those things and LOVE doing them and……wait for it……. Are actually better at those things than I am.
Here is the formula that I used to justify spending money to pay others to do things for me that I am very well capable of.
First figure out how much money you can make in an hour at your business. Let’s say you can make $75 an hour. It takes 3 hours to clean your house. That is $225 that you could have made if you were working at your job. A housekeeper can be hired that charges $25 an hour. That will cost you $75 — so you have just added an extra $150 to your bottom line for the day! It’s really quite simple; it is just a mindset shift. You would never pay someone to clean your house $75 and hour, so when you take time out of your schedule to clean your house you essentially are paying someone $75 an hour to do that.
Keep the important things in your life the important things, and find someone that can be on your “team” that can do the things for you that can push you toward your goals!
Live your dreams. It is possible!
